There is no such thing as too many tips on how to approach prospects effectively and get clients. In an article from the beginning of May, INC.com summed up the ideas presented at a recent virtual conference of coaches and sales experts and presented a list of the best 10 tips from the top professionals in the field.
1. Know your client
In order to build a successful business strategy and sales scripts, you need to know in great detail who your customers are, what they want and what their expectations are.
2. Leave out everything unimportant
These are times where vagueness will not do. Get straight to the point and don't beat around the bush.
3. Find the weak points of your strategy
Define the moments in your sales cycle that are not working 100% and work on them.
4. Ask for referrals
In any case, ask every client at least two times for a referral to their acquaintance/family member/colleague.
5. Focus on the prospect
Don't describe the unique traits of your product; instead, focus on what your solution will bring to the prospect.
6. Keep good workplace relations
It is crucial to be successful in sales to have good relationship with your colleagues, which may also manifest itself in the sense of the team spirit.
7. Focus on your current clients
Retaining current customers is usually several times cheaper than acquiring new ones. Work on your system of upselling of additional services/products.
8. Make use of your personal traits in sales
Every person is different, and there is no point copying the sales style of other people. Respect the specifics of your behavior and use them in a positive way in your sales activities.
9. Use visuals
Graphs, infographics, schemes and pictures work much better than numbers and abstract theories.
10. Have a set plan
Without clearly defined goals and steps towards reaching those goals, all your sales activities just flounder.
