Resilience to stress
As CIO.com states, a project manager must not collapse at the first obstacle they encounter. They must always stay on top of things and be resilient to external pressures, including stress.
Flexibility and adaptability
A project never goes according to plan. So project managers must be prepared constantly to change their plans and adapt to any new developments.
Ability to communicate effectively
A project manager is primarily an effective communicator. Thus they will not get by without excellent communication skills. They must learn to communicate effectively on both an individual and collective level.
Tolerance for mistakes and different opinions
A project manager must be able to let go of the idea they know how things should look and not think only they themselves can do everything properly. A good project manager needs to be tolerant of others, including both their mistakes and their different opinions.
Ability to find people's strengths and expertise
Supporting the strengths of team members is the only way to achieve the maximum potential of the group as a whole. A project manager must be able to detect strengths in people around them, then support and use (not exploit!) these strengths for the benefit of the team.
Willingness to admit they do not know everything
The worst type of project manager is someone who has been everywhere, seen everything and knows everything best. A project manager must primarily be able to admit to themselves and those around them that they do not know something and other people simply know some things better than they do.
